Welcoming Kelly Cummings & Mary Carson Wells

We are thrilled to welcome two new additions to the Main & Rose family: Kelly Cummings and Mary Carson Wells. 

Kelly Cummings, Account Director

Kelly is an award-winning brand marketer with a focus on creative strategy, marketing communications, and omnichannel programming for globally integrated marketing campaigns. Some of her notable clients include PepsiCo, Chipotle, Red Bull, the Cayman Islands, Burton Snowboards and CorePower Yoga. With a career that spans both agency and client experience, Kelly is known for developing robust brand strategies that strengthen consumer love, brand affiliation, and deliver on ROI. Whether forging creative, solutions-oriented campaigns spanning from global to grassroots, Kelly is a passionate brand storyteller with instinctive knowledge formed from over twenty years of market experience. 

What are you most looking forward to as part of the M&R team? 

Main & Rose is a collective of dreamers, thinkers and doers. With this team, I don’t think there is anything that we can’t do! Everyone is so incredibly smart and experienced in their field, yet no one is above rolling up their sleeves and getting to work. There is no such thing as “that’s not my job” here, and it shows in the heart that is put into every client. In a world of agencies, an agency that walks the talk is a rare bird and Main & Rose is an exceptional breed. 

What do you love about branding and marketing? 

Every brand, person and experience is a story waiting to be told. Working in marketing allows you to craft memorable stories that can leave an impression, change an opinion, and motivate a purchase. I love looking at the big picture and identifying the numerous ways to bring a story to life – then mapping out the blueprint to turning it into reality. The most gratifying is when you see your campaign move the needle for your clients, leaving a positive impression and exceeding goals – it’s why we do what we do. 

If you could provide branding for any company, what would it be, and why?

It is hard to identify just one company that I’d love to get under the hood of their branding and marketing strategies. Every brand poses their own unique challenges and personal goals — and to that I say, bring it all on! However, I would love to fire up the Delorean and go back to the future for a seat at the table (even fly on the wall) when some of the most powerful marketing campaigns were brought to life. Nike, Apple, Budweiser, Coca-Cola – these are distinctly iconic brands and their timeless campaigns influenced the way we market today and shaped the way we influence brand loyalty and consumer’s decisions. 

What’s your go-to coffee order?

No more than 12 oz of coffee, straight up. Preferably with South American origins. 

As we head into a New Year, what are you most excited about in 2021? 

At the end of the day I want to go to work with folks that love what they do, work with clients that aren’t afraid to take chances, and do great work. We worked hard to get to 2021 and now it is time for blue skies and to have some fun. 

Mary Carson Wells, Content Coordinator 

A North Carolina native, Mary Carson — or MC — is a digital content guru who pairs innovation with expert strategy to deliver memorable, actionable messaging and campaigns for our clients. MC formerly worked at OMD USA, where she specialized in social advertising & marketing, collaborating with high-profile clients including FedEx, Clorox, and SAP Software on all their national paid social media ad campaigns. A pop culture aficionado, MC spends her free time hiking with her dog Lady Bird and keeping abreast of all the latest TikTok trends.

What are you most looking forward to as part of the M&R team? 

I’m excited to be in a hybrid role that sits between creative and strategy, because I’m getting to work with brilliant people on both sides to find solutions throughout the digital media journey! I love that our team is so involved across channels, with amazing minds working together to find the best solutions for our clients at every touch point. 

What do you love about branding and marketing? 

Every brand has something about them that makes them unique, and it’s an awesome feeling to take those things and turn them into something tangible and long-lasting. I love the freedom to think outside of the box to find a client’s message, because there really are no limits to what you can highlight!

If you could provide branding for any company, what would it be, and why? 

I feel like branding for any company is always exciting and brings its own amazing story to the table, so like Kelly, I think it’s hard to single out any one company! I love companies that are willing to be fearless and bold with their branding, and really admire  brands  like HBO or Netflix that take their amazing content and really position it to be a cornerstone of cultural reference in the entertainment space, so to be able to work with a company make them the cornerstone of their industry would be a dream!

What’s your go-to coffee order?

A nice n’ plain iced coffee with extra ice and just a splash of almond milk! However, right now in the colder months, my go-to is a warm mug of earl grey tea with lemon!

What’s your special party trick? 

I can play a lot of things by ear on piano! I took lessons for years when I was younger and could never wrap my head around reading sheet music. But once I quit, I discovered I could play almost anything by ear if I heard it enough!
